Walk with Pride

Walk With Pride began in Fort Bend County, when a realtor relocated to our area and convinced local realtors to start a Walk With Pride project here. After several years of spearheading the program, it was passed to the Fluor Corp and Exchange.

While families can get good clothing from the clothing bank, shoes are often very worn and don't fit well. Choosing their own new shoes, without help from the parents, can boost a childs happiness and self-confidence.

Walk With Pride is a Community Service Project, wherein we partner with Fort Bend Social Services and Payless Shoe Stores in Sugar Land and Rosenberg, and fit children for shoes in August for the new school year, free of charge. Walk With Pride is held on a Sunday morning, before the stores open. We will have approximately 40 Exchange Club volunteers for this project.

Last year Walk With Pride provided new school shoes for 606 children. Which is the largest number of children served in the last 11+ years.
